You can’t buy a ticket; you can’t win a ticket; you have to earn a ticket. RockCorps has produced more than 40 live concerts for 200,000 volunteers in 8 countries and is launching in South Africa for the first time. Job Description

Position in Organisation

Project Co-ordinator reports to the Project Leader who reports to the Project Manager. 
Project Co-ordinator is reported to by the Volunteers


  • Contribute to the execution of multiple, large, time-specific events each week and lead volunteers through diverse improvement projects at schools, community centres, and other community based settings
  • Communicate and follow up with volunteers by telephone, e-mail, and general mail
  • Sign volunteers up to projects and maintain accurate data on all volunteer activities for the programme through the RockCorps database
  • Assist in all components of projects including, but not limited to; management of project logistics, leading a team of volunteers, supply inventory and resource finding 
  • Respond to event inquiries, needs, and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Assist with community outreach to recruit local volunteers
  • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Inspire and motivate volunteers throughout project experience


  • Possess strong communication skills including verbal and written – must be able to speak to a crowd
  • Have demonstrated experience in project management and/or camp activities
  • Know basic gardening/landscaping, mural making, and or carpentry
  • Have experience with event planning and/or charity organisations


  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Be able to work flexible hours and days; including evenings and weekends
  • Have a great attitude, be a team player and a self-starter
  • Possess flexibility and an ability to manage multiple tasks, under deadlines
  • Have strong decision-making skills with ability to work independently
  • Be able to carry and lift 9 kg
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Driving experience minimum 2 years
  • A willingness to drive a van for transporting project tools and equipment
  • Have a love of music
