About Satago

We believe businesses have the right to Get Paid On Time. That's why we are building Satago: automated credit control that takes the hassle out of chasing debtors. We're committed to helping companies get paid faster so they can spend more time chasing new customers and doing the work they love.

Companies integrate their accounts data with Satago and allow us to anonymously share their payment experiences in return for us automatically chasing their overdue invoices for free with escalating emails or letters (snail mail). Satago has recently closed a seed round of investment, the team is based in London.

The Position: Senior Full Stack Web Developer

This is a full time employee position with stock options. In our case 'full stack' means that you have experience designing, coding and debugging using all the core languages/technologies below, with a depth of expertise in some of them, with some skills from the bonus list:

Core Skills
  • Java (server-side)
  • JavaScript & jQuery (Client side)
  • Tapestry5
  • Test Driven Development (e.g. Selenium/JUnit/TestNG)
  • JPA/Hibernate/QueryDSL
  • REST/SOAP (inc. OAuth)
  • HTML5/CSS3
Bonus Skills
  • Gradle (or Maven or other similar system)
  • TomCat (or other Java web container)
  • Linux (or other Posix variant)
  • Git (or other formal source code control)
  • AWS (or other cloud hosting provider)
  • Big Data (e.g distributed databases, redundant storage, multi-tier indexing)

About You

Your mission, should you choose to join us, is to help companies get paid on time by leveraging your technical skills. This is a mission, not just a job.

You are a web developer who has worked on several large scale websites, either consumer or B2B. You've been in the game a few years but you still understand the value of a mentor. You can think around corners but you can take a step back as easily as dive into the minutiae. You understand best practices but you only apply those that make most sense to ensure you develop with agility. You have experience working in large teams but you understand what it means to be one of the first few technical employees in an early stage startup company (even if you don't have the experience yet). You need to leave the world in a better state than you found it in, as part of a team with ambition to do so.

Along the way you will be working on, learning about and possibly pioneering techniques in data protection/privacy, financial management, calculation and presentation, big data management/summarisation and web user experience optimisation.
