About the Role 

Our new and developing strategy for Philanthropy has raised our aspirations and ambition and this role demands a vision and experienced relationship leader to take it forward. The suitable candidate will be skilful at building high-level networks, inspire support and secure multi-million gifts that transform lives of children.

The role will also guide our special events portfolio, developing and delivering high value events as a means to building relationships, stewarding donors and fundraising. These events aim to maximise return on investment by engaging high value audiences, our ambassadors and our well networked key contacts.


About You

We are seeking an experienced dynamic senior leader to help make this strategy a reality and to lead an ambitious, successful creative team.

  • Significant levels of experience gained at a senior level within major gifts fundraising environment or with High Net-worth individuals or high-level relationship management roles in a for profit environment.
  • Experience of personally delivering to defined and challenging goals with experience of delivering against financial targets in excess of £10m annually
  • A high level of personal gravitas, someone who is at ease working with and influencing successful and high profile individuals
  • Experience of managing and working with external advisers and boards to maximise relationship building with donors
  • A strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement strategies with impact
  • An excellent relationship builder and communicator with high levels of impact, charisma and sensitivity
  • The ability to work collaboratively and influence effectively across organisational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Proven leadership qualities, someone who displays conviction has the ability to carry people with them and who has experience of managing people through change
  • A team player.  Someone who is open and who is able and willing to deliver beyond his or her personal brief
  • An international perspective, understanding of the complexities of poverty and inequality in the UK and globally.
  • Experience of managing and developing high performing teams including recruitment, management, coaching and support of staff
