Street Child of Sierra Leone

Street Child is a volunteer-led charity, which works to help children get off the streets, back home and into full time education. Street Child provides children still living on the streets with vital food, medical care, clothing and counselling. And we help to provide deprived rural communities with their first-ever basic schools. As a result of our work since 2008, over 1000 children have been reunited with their families, and over 3000 children are now in school. At Street Child, we are very proud of our volunteer-based approach. Our pledge is to spend 90% of public donations in Sierra Leone, and to keep our office overheads in London as low as possible.

Described by Runners World as 'quite possibly the world's most worthwhile marathon', the Sierra Leone Marathon will once again take place amongst the stunning scenery of northern Sierra Leone.

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime and the chance to visit one of the least visited yet most fascinating countries in the world. Not only will you take part in a unique and exciting race but you will be helping some of the most vulnerable children come away from street life and back into home and school where they belong.

You will be given the chance to visit Street Child of Sierra Leone's inspiring children's centres and see first-hand where all your fund-raising efforts are being put to use. You will be able to stay at one of the stunning beaches (check out Tribe Wanted!), help out at one of our projects, or take a trip into remote rural villages.

There is a 5k, half marathon and full marathon to choose from and we have a number of exciting travel packages available.
