At Street Child, we are very proud of our volunteer-based approach.  Our smallLondonteam provides strategic oversight for the programme work inSierra Leone, focuses on fundraising and communications for the development and expansion of Street Child, and provides administrative and other support for the work inSierra Leoneand beyond. We are very lucky to have some fantastic volunteers committed to our cause, and we are now looking for an outstanding individual to undertake a Community Fundraiser internship. The internship will be 3-5 days a week and expenses will be covered. The role will be varied but the primary focus will be assisting the Schools and Community officer with outreach work, ranging from cold calling to presenting to community groups and schools.   You will be assisting with promoting the charity to different groups, particularly schools, engaging them in a fundraising partnership with Street Child, creating resources and developing creative ideas as necessary to keep the school engaged.

This is a particularly busy time for the charity so your help in the general day to day running of the organisation would be crucial. The job will be busy and diverse offering you the opportunity to shape your own experience here according to your skills, goals and knowledge, and we will do our best to support you in your career development.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Experience in working with young people and / or schools.
  • Excellent communication skills; confident in cold calling and presenting to different audiences of varying age.
  • A creative individual, able to develop new resources and ideas for children and young people.
  • Incredibly organised and good at time management.
  • A proactive and professional approach;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team;
  • A keen interest in charity and development.
