Our volunteer programme is unlike any other, designed for people willing to donate their time and skills to help empower West African children through education. We offer placements in Sierra Leone and Liberia for anything from a week to 3 months, directly supporting Street Child's work with some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

The charity works towards empowering children by giving them the chance to go to school and giving their families the means to keep them there. Since its launch in 2008, Street Child has reunited over 2,000 street children with their families and created educational opportunities for more than 20,000 children.

Street Child Ambassadors is now seeking dedicated individuals to undertake short- or long-term placements offering support for two essential components of the charity's work:

1. Our child development projects in-country, for which volunteers will travel to West Africa to: offer educational support; develop sports and recreation opportunities for the children we work with; support Street Child’s Family Business Scheme; or a combination of all three.

2. Our fund-raising efforts in the UK, where volunteers have the opportunity to work with our UK fundraising team to achieve vital funds to directly support the projects they will visit and work with in West Africa.

All volunteers are expected to self-fund their flights but our costs offer incredible value: from as little as £5 a day to cover accommodation, one daily meal, airport transfers and all project-related transport.

The ideal applicant will be open-minded, hard working, adaptable, respectful, culturally sensitive, resilient, compassionate and adventurous. If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you.
