We are looking to expand our team of Account Managers and have opportunities for bright, enthusiastic individuals to work with us.

OUR ORGANISATION - We are a fast-growing, dynamic organisation, based in central London working with some of the most respected restaurants from around the country. 

THE ROLE - The role will be to advise and support member restaurants across a range of sourcing, environmental and social sustainability issues, as well as engaging them in a number of events and initiatives.

THE CANDIDATE(S) - Ideal candidates will have first rate communication skills and be highly organised, and must have first-hand experience of managing and developing strong relationships with clients.

THEIR EXPERIENCE - Proven experience of sustainability issues, which affect the restaurant and hospitality sector are also essential and we are particularly interested to hear from people with a knowledge of one or more of the following – food waste management, recycling, environmental auditing, training and development.

Job purpose:

  • To provide member restaurants with advice and support on sustainability and responsibility issues.
  • To encourage and facilitate restaurants to undertake and complete the SRA Sustainability RatingTo encourage SRA member restaurants involvement in SRA events and initiatives
  • To manage all aspects of customer relationship management with the members, aiming to ensure members renew their membership each year
  • To support and build the SRA’s body of knowledge& expertise via case studies from members, up to date information from sustainability partners, research and other sources
[Reporting to: Senior Account Management Team]

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

New Members:
  • Proactively engage new members with initial welcome call and investigation of expectations
  • Ensure new members receive marketing materials and are included as members in relevant databases, encourage members to display badges in windows, menus, websites etc.

Existing Members and Sustainability Ratings:
  • Provide reactive advice and support
  • Proactively seek to develop the members’ participation through events, networking, hubs, ratings, provision of case studies, etc.
  • Log all calls, case history and contact in the CRM system
  • Work with assessors and ratings coordinator, including carrying out individual ratings
  • Liaise with internal PR to create PR opportunities for members


  • Provide weekly updates for team meetings and contribute to monthly updates for senior managers and directors
  • Meet the reporting requirements of any funded projects or initiatives

Knowledge & information:
  • Liaise with sustainability partners and organisations to ensure up to date and accurate information is given to members, and maintain the knowledge base by logging all advice given and information gathered in the agreed format
  • Carry out site research through visits, where appropriate
  • Keep updated on developments with suppliers and collect information in response to member needs
  • Seek out and provide any relevant topical information and news stories to pass on to members via the SRA website, the weekly round-up, Twitter, and Facebook


  • Work on other time limited projects as agreed as the SRA grows and takes on new initiatives
  • Endeavour to further the aims and objectives of the SRA in all work undertaken
  • Work with colleagues towards common goals

Person Specification:

Communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

Organisation skills
  • Highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and clients at a time.

Customer relationship management
  • Experience of managing client or customer relationships, ability to balance their needs and expectations with those of the organisation, and build strong relationships with a view to ensuring members renew their membership each year.

Sustainability knowledge
  • Proven knowledge of a range of sustainability issues pertinent to the restaurant sector (across the SRA pillars of Sourcing and Environmental and Social Sustainability), and ideally experience of advising others on sustainability issues or implementing them

Restaurant Industry
  • Some background of working with or in the hospitality industry is essential in order to understand how a restaurant functions, and the pressures facing them.

Specific experience
  • Experience of one or more of the following – food waste, recycling and waste management; environmental auditing or assessments; staff training and development.
