The successful candidate will fulfill a critical role at The App Business, by helping us create our marketing and brand strategy, which will contribute to our overall business development plan.


The Role

The role entails responsibility for developing a clear and focused marketing strategy, and implementing it with a range of marketing components; including developing press and marketing materials, manage the maintenance of the website, lead direct mail initiatives, develop and launch social media strategy, facilitate awards submissions, devise and launch paid marketing campaigns, act as brand guardian and ensure branding is in line with guidelines, and various other marketing efforts.

Along with the opportunity to create and implement a marketing strategy for The App Business, we are also looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit to help us shape how we improve and expand our app marketing proposition for clients; including app marketing strategy, app activation, asset creation, launch PR, and app store liaison.

 

The role requires a Marketing Manager that:

 

  • Is proactive and highly motivated - a self-starter that can create a strategic plan and implement accordingly
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ensures the team delivers high quality, cut-through copy and design across all media
  • A leader that can work with the team to produce compelling, customer-centric collateral and creative assets
  • Has a track record of producing copy for multiple media, with awareness of channel-specific styles, nuances and rules
  • Create a consistent branded experience

 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Founders, to help roll out our overall business development plan. 

They will also need to work closely with the other departments of The App Business - with the Design team, on executing beautiful marketing assets; with the Strategy team, to ensure that we genuinely understand the client and audience problems and what the app is hoping to achieve; and with the Engineering team, understanding how to craft and execute ideas at a technical, not just conceptual, level.

 

‘MUST-HAVES’

  • Demonstrates experience of strategic and tactical elements of marketing
  • Sound understanding of the mobile space
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work and make decisions independently, and inspire others around you with new ideas and ways of working
  • Excellent communication skills (fluent oral and written English) and an unhealthy obsessive attention to detail and quality standards
  • A disciplined and hard-working ethic; we work hard and play hard, so candidates must be able to push themselves beyond their comfortable limit
  • Previous experience working within a small digital agency would be highly beneficial
  • Be a quick thinker with a scrappy attitude regards getting things done
  • An ego-less personality. We constantly beat stuff up and ask how we could make it better, what we have learnt. This means leaving egos at the door
  • Sales orientated with proven effective marketing  and lead generation experience
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
