Founded in 1753, the British Museum’s collection spans over two million years of human history. Visitors can travel the world and experience the collections from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and the ancient world, including iconic objects such as the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures, the Lewis Chessmen and Egyptian mummies.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop finance, process improvement and reporting skills in a rapidly modernising and world-renowned setting. As Management and System Accountant, you will provide a first class accounting service to departments and entities within the British Museum group. You will be responsible for developing the Museum’s financial systems, thinking creatively to propose and implement improvements.
To join our team you will be a superb communicator who is able to juggle conflicting demands and prioritise your workload effectively. You will have a passion for the Museums and Galleries sector, and strong problem solving skills. Educated to degree level, you will be a qualified ACA accountant with a first class understanding of internal controls.
