We are excited to announce that we are looking for a qualified person to lead our Fundraising & Partnerships initiative at the Craig Bellamy Foundation in Sierra Leone

The role

In this role, you would be managing our existing partnerships and developing new ones, whilst leading new initiatives aimed at building support, brand knowledge and global awareness of the Foundation. Reporting to the Academy Manager, this is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in the exciting next stage of our development. You will be working within our small and dynamic Development team in Sierra Leone, but you will be in regular contact with colleagues and supporters in the UK and USA.  This position will suit an experienced fundraiser with an ability to engage a variety of donors and an understanding of the processes required to ensure this function is successful.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a sustainable fundraising strategy for CBF using all appropriate fundraising streams including institutional, major donors and corporations
  • Initiating, managing and coordinating all fundraising campaigns, including the Northern Ireland Cup fundraising campaign 
  • Researching and accessing appropriate grant funding in the UK and overseas
  • Managing our existing partnership with Mercury International and the COFRA Foundation  (headline sponsors for the 2014 League)
  • Prospecting and building relationships with local and international companies and individuals leading to the acquisition of new partnerships to fund both the League and Academy from 2015
  • Managing the implementation of a new donor database
  • Contributing to the Foundation's strategic planning activities

Required experience & skills

  • A degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject or field
  • Experience in a fundraising position, preferable for a charity
  • Experience of dealing with external agencies and audiences
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Some experience of working or volunteering in a developing country environment

Placement Details

Placement duration to be a minimum of three months 
Role would report to the Craig Bellamy Foundation Academy Manager
