We help companies to save money by engaging their employees in sustainable behaviours - things like using video conferencing, cycling to work, or turning the lights off. Using friendly team competition, automatic impact measurement, and follow up support, our online platform helps people to form new, long term habits.
The DoNation is a young startup crossing between the worlds of social enterprise, sustainability, and digital start-ups. We are a small team of four (and growing), but are supported by a wide network of partners, helpers, and Doers.
Having been through the Wayra UnLtd accelerator programme, we are currently closing a round of investment raised via the crowd - you can see our campaign at www.crowdcube.com/thedonation. We have exceeded our target of £150,000, and are still open to invsetment - as I write are sitting at 106%.
The DoNation was initially a consumer facing platform based on the concept of raising sponsorship through action instead of cash - we call this Donate by Doing. You can find more info on that here: www.thedonation.org.uk/donatebydoing. It was mainly non-profit.
Over the last year we've established Do Good for Business, our commercial arm. We've worked with companies ranging from Scottish Government to Anglian Water, University of Chester to Business in the Community. Having launched our new platform in September, we're now looking to significantly ramp this up, working with many more clients, achieveing ever greater impact.
