Job Purpose

This pioneering role will play a key part in the company’s business development efforts as it attempts to raise its profile in the creative and technology communities and create a buzz around its brand. The primary purpose of the role will be to promote the business in the creative and technology communities and establish a hub for creative and technical talent and thought leadership. The hub will be a space to incubate new approaches and ideas and a place where creative or technology challenges are taken on and conquered. This hub will act as the seed bed for new talent and thinking for company as it helps develop future business streams and by doing so enables it to reach the next level in its development. The role will also have a key part to play in generating this culture of innovation and creativity within the current team.

In addition this role is responsible for the development and execution of marketing and PR campaigns to promote the Company wider business objectives and the initiatives it supports.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with the directors to develop the marketing and PR strategy for the concept and agree the initial objectives.
  • Publicise and promote the agreed strategy initially through the Company’s website, social media channels and events where appropriate.
  • Establish and nurture affiliations with colleges, universities, other channels and individuals and engage them on projects and other tasks to support the objectives of the strategy.
  • Build and cultivate new and existing networks to identify and engage with new talent and thought leadership.
  • Create and manage communication channels to support and encourage thought leadership in the creative and technology communities the Company has an interest in. This will include interviewing and publicising thought leaders and other experts through the appropriate channels.
  • Conduct and communicate to the business the details of industry research that relates to its current clients and strategic objectives.
  • Create targeted campaigns and organise events that promote the work of the hub to relevant audiences which will include new and existing clients, relevant industry events and other activities.
  • Contribute to, formulate and execute other marketing and PR strategies that support the Company’s wider business objectives.
  • Track all social media and other campaigns and produce reports to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Manage and update the content of the Company’s website.
  • Manage the marketing and PR budget efficiently and ensure it produces value for the business.
  • Engage the current team in the work of the hub and develop initiatives that promote innovation and creativity.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Successful track record in developing marketing and PR strategies in a similar business.
  • Highly networked within the industry and can readily leverage these networks in support of the Company’s objectives.
  • A comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the business sector the company is working in.
  • Highly experienced in using web and social media in effective marketing and PR initiatives.
  • Has managed the content of a company’s website in a similar industry and has strong editorial skills.
  • Has organised and managed industry events.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and PowerPoint) and is competent at using HTML 5.
  • Has effective coaching and leadership skills and has had experience of acquiring and nurturing new talent for a creative/ technology business.
