The core responsibilities of the position are the management of the London office, providing support to the project managers and acting as a personal assistant to the CEO.



Responsibilities include:


  • General administration of the office and minute taking of weekly team meetings
  • Event management.
  • Co-ordinating and effectively managing the CEO’s diary, including travel, meetings and itineraries abroad.
  • Financial support: e.g. processing expenses and invoices.
  • Research, editing and publication of The Portland Trust’s monthly Palestinian Economic Bulletin.
  • Proof-reading of feasibility studies, publications and project documents with a critical eye and attention to details.
  • Research on various topics relating to projects, publications and ongoing activities.
  • Prepare presentations together with the project managers.

Significant potential exists for the right person to expand the role and get involved in the range of Portland Trust activities, including projects, research and publications.



The Candidate


The position would be suited to a seasoned office manager or an organised and fast-learning graduate that is interested in developing their skills and supporting the development of the Palestinian economy and the Israeli periphery. The role has potential for development for those interested in learning and being active in the region.

The position involves working closely with a diverse team and with a large array of international partners, requiring good communication skills, confidence and an entrepreneurial attitude.

In addition he/she must be able to act autonomously, use their initiative and have excellent IT skills. Attention to detail is a must as well as demonstration of a flexible ‘can do’ attitude. Prior experience of website management and desk top publishing is a plus.
