Reporting to the Director and working in conjunction with the Head of Learning, the Curator of Public Programmes will be responsible for the programming and delivery of The School of Life’s Public Programme. The main purpose of this role is to deliver a profitable programme that meets our customers’ wants and needs, and which builds on TSOL’s reputation as a provider of innovative, world-class learning experiences.

You will bring curatorial vision, creativity and ambition combined with strong commercial instinct, good contacts in the fields of academia and the arts, and proven leadership and management experience, to build on TSOL’s existing programme offering and faculty network.

You will manage a team comprising the Programme Producer, Coordinator and Assistants, as well as our growing network of Faculty.  In addition, you will be responsible for new Faculty recruitment and training, and will ideally have experience of training educators one-on-one and in groups.

You will bring experience of delivering and marketing high quality, successful event programmes, and developing organisational performance and income generation to meet and exceed set targets.    This requires excellent production, marketing and financial management skills.

You will be culturally savvy, with exceptional writing, communication and public speaking skills. With these, you represent and develop TSOL’s public voice as an organisation.

Above all, this role will require energy, creative flair, an excellent eye for detail and an ability to impassion others. You will be excited by the growth of The School of Life and its mission, including being motivated by commercial targets.

Your experience will most likely have been gained as a Programme Director or Curator in the culture, arts or educational sectors.  Alternatively, you might have experience in a professional learning and development or executive training role. Whatever your background, you will share our passion and will be excited by the opportunity to apply your experience in a world-renowned organisation that plays an important role in educating, informing and inspiring the public about lifelong learning and the power of culture to transform lives.
