This project promotes the welfare of wild long-tailed macaques in an area renowned for its 300 year-old Buddhist monastery as well as its monkey forest.
Volunteers can assist with data collection on behalf of the project and also assist qualified researchers. No particular qualifications or skills are needed for the collection of this data other than patience, good observational skills and the ability to record data accurately.
The project costs 5,200 Thai Baht per month (approx. £115) which includes accommodation in the research centre or nearby homestays. Volunteers can find cheap and delicious food at small restaurants and food stalls in the village.
