About the company:

Our story starts with Ben’s preparation for the 2000 Sydney Olympics by the GB Men’s Rowing Eight. Central to their preparation and the Gold-medals that resulted was the way the crew used the simple question “Will it make the boat go faster?” to challenge everything they did.

Will it make the boat go faster? is now a fast growing Performance Consultancy. We have a big goal: to become the UK’s most respected performance consultancy by 2017 and help our clients realise the many possibilities of ‘Olympic-winning strategies for business performance’.

We have already started and we’re making great progress - our clients range from the largest and most successful multinationals to rapidly growing niche companies - but we want to increase the pace and we’re looking for others to help us.

About the role:

This is your opportunity to develop relationships with influential leaders in our target markets, selling the range of Will It? programmes and services. You will be expected to balance a focus on new business wins with a strong emphasis on year-on-year client development and retention.

You will be supported by a growing recognition of the work we do through Ben’s book, our social marketing and recommendations from existing clients. You’ll be backed and encouraged to grow working independently and within a close knit team.

Who are we looking for?

A perceptive and consultative salesperson, trusted by your clients to help them solve some of the most exciting and challenging issues that confront their organisations. You may be, or have been, a competitive sports person with a confident and self–starting approach.

  • Experience of selling professional services to the corporate sector and understand the sales development cycle of large sales to multiple influencers. Able to listen, understands and reflect on the clients’ issues and then proposes solutions that may stretch and challenge our clients.
  • Efficient and effective in managing the sales process, from developing your market focus to writing timely proposals, and maintaining strong and personable relationships with key clients.
  • You’ll contribute towards the strategy of the client organisation with significant responsibility for its growth.
  • Ability to contribute your ideas with the freedom to be ambitious and daring – and be expected to improve the business in its sales processes, client support and marketing.
  • Results-orientated and entrepreneurial, you will determine your own future as part of the company, with potential to progress as the business grows and to be able to increase your earnings even further.

In summary:

  • Background in professional services or business consultancy
  • Experience of consultative selling to the corporate market at a senior level
  • A good understanding of the dynamics of business
  • Experience of how businesses align and engage employees to perform at the highest levels
  • A proven history of success in new business development and account management
  • A self-driven person who thrives in a small, rapidly growing organisation
  • Interested and active in sport
