Head of Philanthropy and Development - Job Purpose:


To create, own and deliver a fundraising strategy that will generate income from our strong relationships with individuals and corporates to help us create a family-friendly working culture for all.

Reports to: Chief Executive 
Based at: Offices in Camberwell, London SE5 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Generating income from high-net worth individuals, based in the City and elsewhere
  • Developing networks of influential individuals who can contribute to the work of the whole organisation
  • Building and sustaining relationships with corporate clients, so as to maximise sales and philanthropic income across the charity
  • Managing a small fundraising team to achieve ambitious fundraising targets
  • Contributing to the development of the organisation’s strategy and internal leadership, as a member of the Senior Management Team

A swift, inquisitive and strategic thinker who has the ability to work collaboratively with a small team and to build strong relationships with powerful people

Essential Job Skills:

  • Building relationships at the most senior levels within large corporate and City-based organisations
  • Displaying commercial acumen in business planning, target-setting and cost-mangement
  • Asking for money and building the commitment of donors to the cause
  • Inspiring people to work collaboratively and deliver our vision

  • Working effectively with large corporate and City-based organisations and those who work there
  • Hands-on, can-do pragmatic approach
