Charlie worked as a journalist for the travel section of The Express. Fed up with writing about the amazing places he wanted to see for himself, he set off on a huge cycle adventure of his own!

I left my job as a journalist in London to cycle through Asia, Africa and Europe for 4 years. I will travel roughly 50,000 miles in 70 countries with temperatures ranging from 50 below to 50 above (celsius).
I have a limited budget and live in a tent, camping and cooking on a stove wherever I find myself at nightfall. There is very little consistency or monotony in my life and I often rely on the kindness of total strangers.
I am my own master and do as I please. I love it!
I worked as a journalist for the travel section of the Daily Express in London. It only took 6 months of city life to teach me that there is much more to see and do.
I suppose my first bicycle tour (in Nepal) during a summer holiday was when I realised that I could live very cheaply for a long time doing what I had set out to do for a holiday. Hopefully I can earn a living by telling people about my experiences.
I sought sponsorphip and was very kindly given some by http://www.lifeboattea.co.uk/" rel="nofollow">Lifeboat Tea and their Extreme Tea incentive. I asked many questions!
Best: Freedom, luxury of time and seeing the world
Worst: saying goodbye to loved ones
"Hit the road Jack"!
