Do it Now Now (DINN) is an open innovation organisation committed to the social empowerment of Black people through the provision of access to opportunities for social mobility through entrepreneurship and employment. We bring skilled talent, charities, social entrepreneurs, start-up teams, social innovators, investors and philanthropists together to address social challenges, solve problems and support the development of underserved groups.

The CEO’s Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the CEO and the Chair of the Board. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CEO’s Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. The CEO’s Assistant also serves as a liaison to the Board of Directors and team; organises and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts, and oversees special projects. 

Bayo Adelaja, the CEO, founded Do it Now Now in 2016 after recognising the challenges that she and her friends were facing when they tried to succeed in their careers or entrepreneurship journeys. Since then, Do it Now Now has become a thought leader on issues of racial justice in addition to being a provider of free expert-led training on matters concerning financial inclusion, leadership, entrepreneurship and employability skills. 

Bayo’s Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a diversity of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organisational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. 

The primary objective of Bayo’s Assistant will be to engage with both internal and external parties with a high level of professionalism and in a manner that reflects positively on Do it Now Now and our community members.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion especially decisions directly impacting the operations of the company
  • Sustain a daily calendar of meetings and events
  • Prepare Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentations, agendas, reports, special projects and other documents in support of objectives for the organisation
  • Screen incoming engagements; take and deliver accurate messages; respond to requests by gathering and providing information and referring non-routine calls to the appropriate team members
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for internal announcements, board meetings, and client meetings
  • Manage Bayo’s contacts, ensuring that we do not drop key relationships
  • Conserve Bayo’s time by reading, researching, collecting and analysing information as needed, in advance
  • Organise complex calendars and schedules; resolving any scheduling issues
  • Represent Do it Now Now and Bayo in a positive light through great follow-through skills and sound judgment

Requirements

  • Background working in operations or project management
  • Excellent communication and time management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Hospitable and fond of engaging with new people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to work with Bayo on a number of different subjects
  • Demonstrate ability and temperament to work with sensitive information
  • Ability to think outside of the box
