Role Description

The North American Development Team at Low Carbon is responsible for initiating and developing utility-scale wind, solar and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. The Development Manager will be responsible for delivering wind, solar and battery storage projects to financial investment decision in alignment with Low Carbon's strategy in North America. The role will be based in the San Francisco Bay area or remote.


Key Responsibilities


  • Wind, solar and storage project origination and development across a region of the United States / Canada, including site control and title resolution, site diligence, land use and environmental approvals, interconnection advancement and assisting with energy marketing
  • Responsibility for project development budgets and project schedules
  • Support the internal financial approval process for development projects in alignment with company strategy and goals. Includes development spend requests, off-take contract executions, project acquisitions and JV partnerships
  • Interface with subject matter experts, including engineering / transmission, legal, procurement, energy marketing, project finance and construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective development of solar, wind and energy storage projects

Skills & Experience


  • Prior work experience in solar and storage and / or wind and storage development. Specific ERCOT, MISO, PJM, SPP, SERC and / or WECC market experience is a plus
  • Experience in at least two areas of the project development life-cycle, including project origination, permitting, real estate title resolution, interconnection, late-stage development and project financing and equity transactions
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to develop and assess risks to assigned projects
  • Proven analytical skills and presentation skills
