What will you be doing?
The skills audit we recently carried out revealed that legal expertise is one of the main gaps we currently have in our existing board of trustees. We are, therefore, eager to attract trustees with:
The legal background, knowledge and expertise necessary to provide us with ad hoc legal guidance on topics related to the management, good governance and protection of our charity;
Or a wide variety of contacts in the legal sector that would enable us to have access to a pool of legal experts we could consult on relevant topics as and when needed;
Or extensive experience helping charities ensure that they are legally compliant, well run and accountable.
What are we looking for?
What Are We Looking for? We are particularly looking for candidates with:
The legal skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to provide us with ad hoc legal guidance on topics related to the management, good governance and protection of our charity;
Or a wide variety of contacts in the legal sector that would enable us to have access to a pool of legal experts we could consult on relevant topics as and when needed;
Or extensive experience helping charities ensure that they are legally compliant, well run and accountable.
What difference will you make?
We have steadily grown and expanded our charity over the last 4 years. We have transitioned from a volunteer-run organisation to a charity with a growing team of paid staff members, 2 rented offices, and many long-term projects. In view of this situation, we are seeking up to 2 new trustees who:
Have the legal knowledge and expertise that our current board members lack to advise us on topics such as rental agreements, personnel, partnership agreements, intellectual property etc.;
Or have extensive contacts in the legal sector, with opportunities for us to seek ad hoc advice from these individuals as and when needed.
