- Lead the project management of BESS projects from inception to construction readiness.
- Deliver high-quality planning applications with a strong focus on environmental and community engagement.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage external consultants for project execution.
- Handle land agreements and liaise with landowners to secure project sites.
- Minimum 4 years of renewable energy development and consents experience.
- Expertise in project management, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in UK consenting regimes and environmental assessments.
- Strong leadership skills for managing project teams.
- Understanding of grid connections, BESS design, and land-related project development.
- Experience with BESS is highly desirable.

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Project management of a number of our greenfield development projects, including:
- Creation and ongoing management of project programmes to ensure timely delivery of planning applications;
- Leadership and coordination of core project teams comprising design, grid and land work packages;
- Budget and risk management; and
- Reporting and escalation
- Delivery of high quality planning applications for greenfield projects including:
- Procurement and day-to-day management of external environmental and planning consultants to deliver all assessments needed to support a planning application; and
- Stakeholder engagement with key statutory consultees and local communities
- Design management
- Working knowledge of relevant civils, electrical and safety design requirements for BESS;
- Management of external consultants to deliver site investigations and surveys to inform site design; and
- Coordination of in-house grid and design teams to act as Principle Designer in developing site specific designs suitable for planning.
- Landowner engagement, including:
- Experience in all necessary land agreements required for development projects;
- Working with in-house land teams to ensure that land agreements are secured in line with project programmes; and
- Landowner liaison.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- You have excellent project management skills - acting fast and delivering projects to programme is critical, so you’ll need to have proven drive and project management skills
- You’re a great leader who can work autonomously to lead a team. You know how to get people motivated, aligned and delivering.
- You have good attention to detail to deliver plans, designs and technical assessments to a very high standard
- You’re an open, clear communicator capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
- You’re a team player who enjoys working collaboratively. You will be responsible for coordinating input from a lot of teams, including external consultants
- You’re enthusiastic, curious and knowledgeable about the energy storage industry
- 4+ years experience in the project development and consents, within the renewable energy industry
- Project management skills, including experience in programme, budget and risk management
- Strong understanding of consenting regimes within the UK, including environmental assessments
- Experience in managing a project team and leadership skills
- Experience of managing external consultants and stakeholder engagement
- General understanding of grid, design and land elements of project development in order to manage inputs from technical specialists
