What will you be doing?
Cromer Artspace aims to engage and inspire the local community with art in public places, encouraging audience engagement and participation by increasing the understanding of the arts. All of us are volunteers and we aim to be fresh and outward looking, supporting artists and bringing works and events of quality and imagination to Cromer. We are looking for someone with a background in finance to join the Cromer Artspace Board to help us to ensure the oversight and sound management of the charity’s finances and to support an ambitious fundraising programme. We are looking for a Treasurer who will join the other trustees in ensuring that Cromer Artspace is managing its finances well, planning for the future, and is meeting its legal and financial responsibilities. Ideally we are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of finance in the Arts sector, but we would welcome applications from anyone with a background in finance and bookkeeping who has an interest in the Arts. We will arrange for training in charity finance, if needed
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience in accounting and financial management, including preparation of budgets, accounts and reports for internal and external use, and who can contribute to the development of the charity's strategic and operational plans and fundraising strategy. We would welcome applications from people with a finance background in the Arts, but any applicant with an interest in art who is willing to find out more about the funding of Arts organisations would also be welcome. We are a small team, so we hope that applicants would be willing and able to work well in a team and support and be supported by other trustees.
What difference will you make?
As Treasurer, you will be joining a small and dedicated group of trustees at a key time in the charity's development. Your specialist skills and knowledge will be vital to helping the trustees to plan and deliver an ambitious programme of arts activities and in securing funding to improve and develop our Art Deco gallery on the prom in Cromer.
