Description
What you'll be doing
- Taking Field from being a code-taker to code-maker by driving specific code changes that better recognise and reward the benefits storage brings to the electricity system
- Delving into the detail of storage business cases to understand the effect on a profitability of specific costs and revenues including network charges, financing costs and new grid services
- Forming alliances with similarly-minded partners and organisations and using collective lobbying to achieve change with DESNZ, Ofgem, NGESO and within the code frameworks
- Communicating to internal stakeholders how energy policy updates and the implications of REMA will affect Field’s strategy to develop, construct and operate its own storage portfolio
- Sharing important policy insights with colleagues in GB, Italy, Germany and Spain and feeding back what works in these countries to policy makers in GB
The Skills you'll need
- Experience proposing and responding to code modifications, being a workgroup participant and an understanding of both pitfalls and routes to success to achieving code changes
- A deep understanding of at least one of the following codes:
- CUSC
- DCUSA
- Grid Code / DCode
- BSC
- In-depth understanding of at least one the following:
- Network charging methodologies (e.g. TNUoS, DUoS)
- Balancing Mechanism
- Capacity Market rules
- Able to communicate complex concepts and present cogent arguments to persuade and influence policy makers
- Understanding of the main parts of GB Energy Legislation and licence obligations of generators, network owners and NGESO
