- Act as a legal advisor throughout product development, focusing on privacy and consumer protection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks and contribute to the product roadmap.
- Use data and analytics to inform legal guidance and influence executive decision-making.
- Strong execution focus, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to conduct risk-based analysis.
- 7+ years of experience in product or privacy legal counseling, preferably in-house at a tech company.
- Expertise in content regulation, policy, or social media legal challenges.
About This Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Counsel to join the Strava legal team! You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Product Managers on features that allow everyone on Strava to live their best active life–all while navigating complex challenges around privacy, consumer protection, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
This is a hybrid role that reports to the Deputy General Counsel of Product & Privacy and is based in our San Francisco office.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:
- Act as a trusted advisor to product teams throughout the product development lifecycle, implement privacy-by-design strategies, and ensure that product launches are calibrated properly for legal risk
- Advise product teams on a range of legal issues, including privacy, consumer protection, content moderation, and regulatory matters
- Coordinate advice with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Marketing & Growth, and Engineering, as well as within Legal
- Thoughtfully influence the development of Strava’s product roadmap and develop deep expertise in legal issues core to our platform

- Using data and analytics to augment legal-based guidance
- Working cross-functionally with senior executive leaders to drive change

We’re excited about you because:
- You can distill complex legal requirements into actionable advice for product teams
- You have the ability to bring creative legal solutions to complex product challenges
- You have 7+ years of experience in product and/or privacy counseling
- You have in-house experience at a multinational, consumer-facing technology company
- You have deep familiarity with one or more of the following: content regulation, policy and escalations, or social media
