- Role Summary:
- Facilitate training for team members on data modeling in line with best practices.
- Identify and capitalize on data optimization opportunities across company domains.
- Establish and promote best practices for data modeling and processing.
- Support initiatives that enhance data culture and maturity within Funding Circle.
- Proactively address any risks or issues related to data management.
- Role Requirements:
- Proven expertise in dbt and proficiency in SQL, Python, Pyspark, or similar languages.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- A passion for delivering business value through data-driven insights.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will be joining our Data Engineering team which sits under Tech and Data. The role involves setting up training for non-coding Circlers to enable them to model data to best practices, identifying actions and optimisation opportunities for modelled data across our domains, and playing a key role in establishing best practices for modelling and processing data. You will also help support data culture initiatives to grow data maturity at Funding Circle and proactively problem solve, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in dbt, proficiency in SQL/ Python/ Pyspark and/or other languages relevant to data processing, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, a passion for creating business value through data, and strong communication skills are also required.
