Role Summary:

The Estates and Capital Project Department (ECPD) at the British Museum is seeking to appoint a Quality Manager within the Design, Space and Information Management team (DSIM). The Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering the Museum’s ambitious masterplan as well as on-going renewal of critical infrastructure. The scope of the Quality Manager will see the post-holder supporting on assuring the supply chain is briefed in terms of Museum-specific requirements, monitoring design progress against success criteria, applying KPIs, and driving continuous improvement through lessons learned.
Internally, the role will support on the development of a QMS for DSIM, manage regular design reviews, manage a suite of standards, identify and communicate legislative changes, and identify training and development needs for the team. Ongoing projects include the construction of an on-site Energy Centre to facilitate the Museum's decarbonisation, improvements to the visitor welcome, early stages of the Western Range redevelopment, as well as significant renovations and enhancements to public-facing areas, MEP and fire systems across the site.
The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level, with a degree in a built environment discipline desirable. Experience in supporting a team, driving performance and assurance of service delivery is required. The candidate should be able to synthesize information and write authoritative, coordinated documentation. Strong collaboration and consultation skills, strong written communication skills, and being diplomatic and tactful are also required.
