Role Summary:
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes for manufacturing.
- Expand the analytical measurement suite to enhance product development and manufacturing.
- Develop analytical test methods for material characterisation and in-process monitoring.
- Maintain internal equipment and lead analytical experiments with accountability.
- Collaborate with technical teams for data collection and statistical analysis.
- Develop QC process analytical methods and lead new instrument procurement.
- Streamline data analysis for maximum efficiency and value.
Role Requirements:
- Substantial experience in analytical chemistry.
- Skilled in method development and validation.
- Proficiency in various analytical techniques and complex instrument operation.
- Experience in catalyst, pharmaceutical, or materials science industries is advantageous.
- A degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry is required.

We are looking to hire an experienced analytical scientist to enhance our analytical capabilities and provide critical insights for product development as we scale up and manufacture our innovative product, Puratech.

Because this is our first analytical hire we will consider hiring at an Analytical Scientist level or a Senior Analytical Scientist level.
What you’ll be doing...
- You will report to the Head of Product Development and be responsible for developing robust QA processes for manufacturing and expanding and maximising the value from our analytical measurement suite, which is essential for improving product development and manufacturing outcomes.
- You will work in tandem with the product development process to develop applicable analytical test methods for material characterisation and in-process monitoring.
- Leading and conducting analytical experiments whilst taking accountability for ensuring our internal equipment is maintained.
- In collaboration with the technical teams, collecting and compiling data and applying statistical analysis to support the definition of product specifications.
- Developing analytical methods which can be used as part of QC processes during manufacturing.
- Lead the procurement of new analytical instruments, develop test methods, validate the methods versus existing data and write SOPs.
- Streamlining data analysis, ensuring we are getting the maximum, value from our data.
What you’ll need to be successful...
- Substantial experience in analytical chemistry
- Experience in method development and validation.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as; elemental analysis, LCMS, GCMS, particle size distribution, porosimetry, XPS, XRF, BET, SEM, TGA, XRD, IR and UV Vis.
- Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex analytical instruments.
- Experience in industries such as catalysts, pharmaceuticals, or materials science could be beneficial, especially in contexts where material characterisation of complex solids is required.
- Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
