The ND Harbour aims to improve the mental health of neurodivergent people in Kent. We need a trustee to join our board to help steer our governance, through experience as a mental health professional.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for people with a passion for improving the lives of neurodivergent people, along with either professional or lived experience of neurodivergence. The role can be carried out remotely, and you do not need to live in Kent. You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide a full induction and training. We are looking for people who would be able to take on the role of Lead Safeguarding Trustee. We therefore particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in a mental health role. Other specific areas of expertise that we would be particularly interested in include health and safety; clinical psychology; psychiatry; mental health nursing.

A passion for improving the lives of neurodivergent people, along with either professional or lived experience of neurodivergence. Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation. Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement and work effectively as a board member. Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion. A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Enthusiasm for our vision and mission. Willingness to lead according to our values of: unconditional positive regard; empowerment; healthy boundaries; inclusivity; and curiosity.
