Role Summary:

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and other financial reports.
  • Analyze financial performance, providing valuable insights to influence decision-making.
  • Coordinate the quarterly and annual reporting processes, ensuring compliance with listed company requirements.
  • Manage the annual financial statement audit process and develop strong relationships with external auditors.
  • Update and enforce accounting policies, keeping abreast of new standards and regulations.
  • Guarantee timely regulatory reporting by collaborating with the Finance and Compliance teams.

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with top-tier accountancy firm practice experience.
  • Expertise in IFRS and listed company financial reporting.
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills to interpret and relay complex financial data.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adept in managing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team, meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changes.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in Netsuite or similar applications.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of key financial information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing the financial statement audit process.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial reporting, with a deep understanding of accounting standards and listed company reporting requirements. This position requires a proactive individual with a meticulous attention to detail, an ability to handle complex financial information, and with strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with our auditors and key stakeholders from within the business.

What You’ll Do

This role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Monthly Management Accounts & Financial Information Review
Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and other key financial information, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company objectives. Provide insight and analysis on financial performance and variances to budget, supporting decision-making at both an operational and strategic level.
Quarterly Reporting
Lead the preparation of quarterly financial reports, and assist with further developing these reports to meet relevant listed company requirements. Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial information is available for each reporting cycle.
Annual Financial Statement Audit
Manage the end-to-end annual financial statement audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for our external auditors. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure readiness for audits, respond to auditor requests efficiently, and implement recommendations where appropriate. Own and develop the relationship with external auditors, fostering a transparent and collaborative approach to audits.
Accounting Policies & Standards
Regularly review and update accounting policies as required, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Assess and communicate the impact of any new accounting standards on the company’s financial reporting and operations, implementing necessary changes to policies and procedures.
Regulatory Reporting
Oversee the regulatory reporting that is produced by the Finance team and work closely with the Compliance team to ensure regulatory reporting deadlines are met.

Experience and Skills

Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), ideally with practice experience at a top-tier accountancy firm. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS, with experience in the financial reporting requirements of listed companies. Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting or related roles, with a track record of managing complex audits and reporting processes. Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyse financial data and provide insights to support business decisions. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Ability to work unsupervised whilst also contributing to a team-oriented environment, to progress key projects and meet deadlines. Capable of adapting to evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements, bringing expertise and flexibility to ensure continuous improvement. Preferred background would be a candidate who has completed their training in practice at a top-tier accountancy firm and then gained experience within a listed entity environment. Experience working in Netsuite and other similar applications is preferable.
