  • Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of People Ops and Workplace, you will impact our overall employee in-office experience by leading our Workplace and Facilities teams in San Francisco and Denver and supporting our global offices. You will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and management of our workspaces, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and welcoming environments. This role will partner with our People Team and leadership teams to create workplaces that not only support employee productivity and well-being but also upholds the company's commitment to fostering an inclusive culture.

This is a highly cross functional role and in addition to the leaders on the People Team, key partners will be your IT teammates, executive business partners, the talent team, finance team, and office committee leaders as you work to create a creative, supportive and safe working environment across Strava .

This position is in San Francisco. Strava operates as a hybrid workforce, and we expect our teammates to work in-office together more than half of the time.

The most important responsibilities are:

  • Enhance and maintain the overall workplace services strategy and operating model for these offices, establishing vital processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Oversee daily operations of our workplaces, ensuring they are clean, organized, and conducive to productivity.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for facilities maintenance, security, cleaning, and other office services.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient use of office space; including office layout and furniture arrangements, to maximize utilization and employee comfort.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, creating an environment where employees feel safe, secure, and supported.
  • Enhance, lead, and manage all Strava workplace programs while adhering to budgets, cultures and policies for each location. Ex: snack & beverage, office decor & plants, towel service, etc.
  • Be the point of escalation for your workplace team providing general support to all global employees on all Workplace related questions through a variety of support channels.
  • Work closely with the entire People team on company culture, how it is experienced throughout our office spaces, our programs and people-approach that blend data insights with care and empathy

Experience required:

  • 6+ years progressive experience in facilities management, workplace operations, or a related field, with experience managing a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style
  • A track record of both designing and implementing effective processes.
  • Experience leveraging people software to drive outcomes, business processes, and people programs.
  • Relevant industry knowledge on best practices and implementation.
  • Focusing on the details, but always mindful of the big picture.
  • Exercising good judgment when handling sensitive situations.
  • Experience scaling operations.
  • Experience supporting a strong company culture through programs and events.
