Role Summary:

  • Extract and analyze data from various sources.
  • Validate and structure raw data for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Assessments team to evaluate carbon projects.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to improve data extraction processes.

Role Requirements:

  • A STEM degree and strong analytical skills.
  • Must be London-based, available to work onsite five days a week.
  • Desire to make a meaningful impact on climate and ecosystems.
  • The ability to thrive in dynamic, evolving environments.

Sylvera provides trusted ratings, tools and data for carbon credits and CDR. Our mission is to incentivize investment in real climate action. 

Purchasing carbon credits and CDR through the carbon markets is one of the most established and scalable ways to channel finance to effective climate solutions and work toward societal net zero. Unfortunately, the carbon markets were plagued with mistrust and a lack of effectiveness since they’ve emerged – until Sylvera.

To help organizations ensure they're making the most effective investments, Sylvera Trusted ratings, tools and data for carbon credits and CDR. Our data and software independently and accurately validates the impact of carbon projects that capture, remove, or avoid emission whether they are up and running, or in development. Our data and tools allow users to optimise both the climate and economic performance of projects as well as understand the past and future of the market. With Sylvera businesses, governments and developers can confidently invest in, benchmark, deliver, and report real climate impact.

Our team is made up of leading minds in climate change from scientists to policy, finance, and carbon market experts. We work in partnership with scientific organizations, universities, governments, and think tanks to develop and implement rigorous and holistic project assessment methodologies, leveraging the latest technology. We also partner with actors and institutions across the whole market to make data higher quality, more standard and more accessible. Founded in 2020, Sylvera has 130+ employees globally with offices in London, New York, Belgrade, and Singapore. What will I be doing? ‍‍👩‍💻👨‍💻

We’re looking for mission-driven Carbon Analyst interns to join our Assessment team in London. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

Extract and compile data from various sources such as databases, reports, and external systems. Clean, structure, and validate raw data for analysis and reporting purposes. Collaborating with the Assessments team to assess the quality of carbon projects. Work with the technology team to improve the data extraction process Work closely with cross-functional teams including carbon analyst experts, engineers, and the product team. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve practices.

We’re looking for someone who: 🧠💚

Has a STEM degree Is able to join as a permanent member of the team after the internship if all goes well Strong analytical skills and experience handling data Based in London (this role is on-site, with five days a week in our London office) Cares deeply about the climate and ecosystems of the earth Is a self-starter who thrives in constantly evolving environments, ideally with early-stage experience
