Role Summary

  • Report directly to the Director of Circular Impact
  • Support five key workstreams: Carbon Credit Verification, Carbon Project Scaling & Optimization, Biochar Project Registration, Credit Marketing, Grant Application Support
  • Lead project feasibility assessments, carbon avoidance and sequestration project registration and verification with international bodies, and support project implementers with data management in compliance with carbon project requirements

Role Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
  • Minimum two years of work experience
  • Experience or familiarity with voluntary carbon markets
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A profound interest in helping solve the climate crisis and familiarity with climate science, finance, or impact-driven projects will be an advantage

Circular Impact, part of Regen Organics by the Sanergy Collaborative, is a new climate and social impact platform focused on helping circular economy companies quantify and monetize their environmental and social impact. We believe that circular economy companies play a unique role in solving the climate crisis and carbon and climate financing can be a tremendous catalyst for scale and growth in this space.

As a Carbon Credit Associate, you will report directly to the Director of Circular Impact and will play a crucial role in supporting Circular Impact’s five current workstreams: Carbon Credit Verification, Carbon Project Scaling & Optimization, Biochar Project Registration, Credit Marketing, and Grant Application Support.

Your duties and responsibilities will include leading project feasibility assessments, and subsequent registration and verification of carbon avoidance and sequestration projects with international standards bodies and associated carbon validation/verification bodies. You will also support on-the-ground project implementers in setting up and managing data measurement/monitoring/reporting systems that are in compliance with carbon project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, at least 2 years of prior work experience, ideally some familiarity or experience with the voluntary carbon markets, and strong communication skills in English. A deep interest in helping to solve the climate crisis, familiarity with sustainability, climate science, climate finance, or impact-driven projects is a plus.
