Piccolo are looking for a Head of Marketing who is digitally savvy and all about making stuff happen - working with an awesome internal team & not only via agencies!

Head of Marketing (HOM)

We are looking for a Head of Marketing with a true understanding and experience in Digital Marketing as the role entails supporting a team with internal capacity in digital marketing. Our chosen HOM will a true team player working with a talented team across a variety of marketing and brand functions to advance our brand awareness and conversion. Our candidate will need to be a practical, hands on, with experience having done the ‘doing’ themselves rather than just outsourcing to agencies, as well as an ease for working in a nimble fast-paced environment.


Full Funnel UK Marketing Strategy with a focus on Digital

  • Taking care of and steering brand Piccolo.
  • Developing and executing disruptive online and offline campaigns, including digital marketing, brand partnerships, and on the ground activation.
  • Analysing marketing data and user feedback (campaign results, conversion rates etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies
  • An understanding and ease with, (coming from previous experience) of Customer Acquisition & Retention, Performance Marketing, Display, Affiliates, Social Media, PPC, SEO, Content Marketing, Digital PR, E-Commerce across in-store and online.
  • Direction and accountability for Trade Marketing (Shopper Marketing) execution mainly on the digital side.

Team leadership

  • Motivate and support a marketing team helping them to deliver the day-to-day whilst always improving processes and efficiency.
  • Help achieve KPIs from the Marketing Team to feed into wider Business goals.
  • Leverage insights from various areas of the business to inform planning and process.
  • Work with the Sales team to drive effective and cost efficient retail activation.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in our Creative & NPD teams on product range and new launches. 
  • Understand how to get the best from the team in an ambiguous fast moving environment.

Budget and reporting

  • Effectively manage the marketing budget ensuring decisions are based on suitably rigorous ROI analysis
  • Agility to flex approach depending on performance pulling levers needed at the right time
  • Grip and desire to track activity/spend.

Experience Required

  • The ideal candidate will have had experience getting their hands dirty in a small business where there has been a need to “do” rather than purely to delegate to agencies with experience doing the doing so that they can actually measure and assess campaigns
  • Challenging traditional ways of Marketing with a digital technology first lens, and maintaining Piccolo as a challenger brand
