Our Mission

Reduce inequity by helping immigrants move money home by becoming the leading cross-border fintech for immigrants.

The Team

-> Founded by Harvard grads / 3rd-time founders --- also founded Segovia (successful exit) and GiveDirectly (>300M revenue, fastest-growing NGO).

-> Top performers from top and varied organizations (e.g., Bain, Bolt, Google, McKinsey, SafeBoda, Uber, Zipline) --- we like moving fast, and we hire people that do as well.

-> Driven by mission, guided by values (see below) – in deed, not just word.

-> Team as global as the mission, >30 languages from 25 countries (i.e., if you’re interested in learning to make Chicken Moambe, we’re the place).

About Us

Taptap Send is backed by top VCs (Spark, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital, etc.), rapidly growing and a great place for those looking for both impact and a fast-paced tech startup environment. Read more about the journey in Reid Hoffman’s words or TechCrunch article (outdated)

Launched in 2019, Taptap is tapping into a transformative shift in global finance: from banks to phones. While this has affected wealthier countries as well, it has been nothing short of a revolution for the emerging markets where the overwhelming majority of population had been unable to access digital finance previously. Its first product, Taptap Send, allows immigrants to send money home instantly and with no fee, saving money in the process. With a formal market size of >700B alone, we’ve got a lot more saving to do for our users. And that’s just the beginning….

Our Investors

Spark Capital, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital (Jim Breyer), Unbound (Shravin Mittal), Wamda (Fadi Ghandour), Firstminute Capital, Slow Ventures (Sam Lessin), Helios Partners (Souleymane Ba), Co-ventures (Ali Hamed), Nikesh Arora, Samih Toukan, and many other context-specific angels

The Role

The Director of Network Performance will be a seasoned relationships manager with 6+ years’ experience of building and managing high-performing teams. They will oversee a small and growing team of payments ops managers and in-market coordinators, and will be expected to work closely with our growing list of network partners (banks, tech companies, MNOs) across multiple continents, timezones and cultures.

To do this, the Director of Network Performance will be expected to travel extensively (sometimes 50% of the time), design and keep abreast of bespoke KPIs, report on those KPIs to senior management and, crucially, translate those KPIs and relationships into a more reliable product for our customers -- marrying analytics and relationships with obsessive attention to detail.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and building a team, and working with other teams to better leverage on the ground assets in each market
  • Designing bespoke KPIs to maintain high performance expectations
  • Owning the relationships in our existing network of partnerships and being able to confidently communicate with MNOs, banks, tech companies and more across multiple geographic regions and cultures

  • Extensively travelling to meet with and invest in relationships with our existing partners, often for multiple weeks at a time in order to trouble-shoot our most pressing challenges
  • Identifying the root cause of remittance issues and proactively remediating network problems as soon as they arise
  • Leading creative solution-finding with the Business Development, Product and Engineering teams, with obsessive focus on the customer experience
  • Being on call during evenings and weekends due to the global nature of our work.

  • Are passionate about our mission and eager to do what needs to be done to achieve it
  • Are enthusiastic to learn about payments technology, solving unique problems, and optimizing processes
  • Enjoy challenges, are resourceful and think outside the box to find creative ways to tackle problems
  • Love leading and building teams
  • Love managing relationships across cultures and sectors
  • Are cheerful about emergencies outside work hours

  • Have an analytical mind and know-how to identify the performance metrics that matter
  • Are familiar with the partner countries we predominantly work with (considered a plus)
  • Are proficient in English and French (strong preference). Any other language spoken by partners in our network (e.g. Arabic, Bengali) is considered a plus and would be considered in lieu of French
  • Have at least 6+ years of experience in managing teams and key relationships
