To lead delivery of teacher professional development and educator training at the Micro:bit Educational Foundation. Reporting to the Chief of Learning and working with colleagues in the Education team and across the organisation including with partner organisations.
Teacher professional development
Responsibility for the micro:bit teacher professional development platform
- Working with the Chief of Learning and Education Content Manager to develop and agree course series direction
- Leading the design, creation and publishing of all final course content
- Planning and project management, internal communications and regular reporting
- Overseeing all course content production, briefing and commissioning internal colleagues and external providers
- Contributing to the creation of course content
Reaching teachers worldwide
- Devising and planning regional launch campaigns to reach teachers in priority markets and grow the platform audience
- Working with internal colleagues and external partners to create and deliver marketing-comms projects
- Working with the Chief of Learning and Education Content Manager to develop a model for face-to-face training programme content
- Overseeing training content production, briefing and commissioning internal colleagues and external providers
- Contributing to the creation of training content
Experience of working in education product and publishing is an advantage. You’ll understand the class teacher experience in primary and secondary settings and be comfortable challenging assumptions, researching user experience and requirements when developing professional development and training programmes for classroom teachers and educators.
You’ll have an interest in the introduction of computing technologies and digital skills to school children and young people. But you don’t need to be a subject matter expert. A willingness to learn is essential.
A broad skills-set including writing and editing, and proven professional experience, will demonstrate your ability to work with subject experts, content creators and teachers to devise, create and deliver outstanding, popular education products.
- Experience working in cross-discipline teams to develop successful products and published materials
- Ability to work with complex subject matter and simplify it to create clear, accessible content
- Strong editorial skills, writing and editing compelling content for a target audience
- Project management experience, ability to manage and drive work across a team of people to time and budget, while managing stakeholder engagement and communication
- Digital product management or product ownership
- Understanding of education technology landscape at international level
- Understanding of computing and technologies curricula at international level.
This is a fixed term, full-time contract until July 2023. To begin immediately
Salary range 41-45K GBP
