Finance Manager

High growth start-up seeks finance manager to support rapid expansion.

Secret Spa is the UK’s largest growing at-home platform offering beauty treatments. Our platform allows customers to book at-home appointments from 6am - 10pm with the best beauty, hair and wellness professionals across London, Manchester & Brighton. We are also proud to enable over 500 freelancers as entrepreneurs with our leading software to grow and manage their business.

After experiencing explosive growth during COVID and with a major funding round just closed, we are expanding our team to support rapid expansion. This is a rare opportunity to join a high growth start-up, which is still at the beginning of its ambitions.

What we need

We are looking for a Finance Manager to build and manage the day-to-day finance function, as well as creating, and implementing, long-term solutions and processes to aid in the smooth running of Secret Spa’s financial success.

As our first in-house finance hire, this position will suit someone with a background at a leading accounting firm who is looking to take a step-up in a smaller, start-up organisation with the opportunity to grow a finance team from the ground up. There is potential for our Finance Manager to progress into a Finance Director or CFO role in the future.

In this role, you will

  • Play a key part in building out a high performing finance function
  • Be the subject matter expert on financial operations and work as a senior leadership team advisor to ensure long-term financial success
  • Design and implement core financial processes and systems
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and forecasting on P&L, budgets, cash flow and balance sheets, working closely with the senior leadership team
  • Ensure that Secret Spa meets its financial and legal obligations
  • Be responsible for the preparation of regular reporting and analysis
  • Have the opportunity to work on future fundraising campaigns


Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 4-7 years in a finance role
  • Ambition to grow as a financial professional in a fast-growing context
  • Ability to shape and rethink processes from the ground up
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely
  • Very tech literate with the ability to pick up new software tools quickly
  • Knowledge and understanding of Google Sheets and Excel
  • Experience using accounting software (ideally Xero)
  • A commercial mindset with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment and adapt to change

Salary dependent on experience. There is also the potential to receive EMI options.
