Finance and Risk Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Finance and Risk Manager to join us.

It is an exciting time to join Profusion, we are growing at pace right now and have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our team as a Finance and Risk Manager. You will report to the Head of Operations and Finance and be responsible for the end-to-end finance function and also have responsibility for the risk management process across the business. You will be responsible for reporting across your remit to the Leadership Team and the Profusion Board. This is a central role in the Finance Team with cross company involvement. As a growing business there is also the need to develop best practice with our financial policies and procedures.

All of this while embarking on an exciting journey with a pioneering, fast- growing company situated at the heart of London’s Tech City. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Taking ownership of the management accounting and monthly reporting with a hands-on approach while ensuring robust controls and the right processes are in place.  
  • All processes in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and variance analysis 
  • Preparation of financial and management accounts 
  • Identifying KPIs, implementing, monitoring and reporting on the results 
  • Performance and profitability analysis 
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank and control accounts including accruals and prepayments 
  • PAYE, Pension and VAT processing and returns 
  • Managing the company Risk Register, including reporting to Leadership and the Board   
  • Working across Finance and wider business departments to develop strong working relationship  
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of month end income and expenditure 
  • Assist with production of modelling to project growth 
  • Any other ad hoc responsibilities that may be reasonably required 

Knowledge & Experience  

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) 
  • Knowledge of UK VAT, Tax and Pension legislation 
  • Experience using Xero and Salesforce 
  • Excellent communication skills are essential 
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and understanding of key financial drivers 
  • Experience of risk management is a benefit, but not essential
