NHS England and NHS Improvement

Strategy Analyst

UK's biggest employer seeks curious and entrepreneurial Strategy Analysts to join the national Strategy team

The Strategy Team supports the NHS, the country’s biggest employer tackling some of its biggest issues. We are currently supporting the recovery from COVID-19, alongside delivering wider strategy projects tackling real challenges facing healthcare now, and in the longer term.

We are a dynamic team that supports the development of overall NHS strategy and delivers a mix of short and long-term projects to improve specific health services for patients and society more broadly. Examples include co-ordinating national, regional, system and provider stakeholders in the development and drafting of the elective recovery strategy to reduce waiting lists and drafting the design and implementation strategy for Community Diagnostic Centres.

You would join the growing team at a critical and exciting time as we continue to support the NHS, the country’s biggest employer tackling some of its biggest issues. We are currently working with the NHS in responding to and recovering from COVID-19, alongside delivering wider strategy projects tackling real challenges facing healthcare now, and in the longer term.

You will have good problem solving and analytical skills and be able to work with the team to develop ideas within our strategy projects, in addition to contributing to the development of overall NHS strategy. You will also have an ability to work with the team on the wider project portfolio as well as experience in building good stakeholder relationships to enable delivery of quality projects.

The post requires someone with a natural curiosity and entrepreneurial approach to research and analyse complex issues. A team-worker, you will also be able to manage your own workload. Ideally (but not essential) you will have experience of working on strategy projects as well as contributing to quantitative and qualitative analysis and the development of high-quality project end products (e.g. briefings, presentations and reports).

The Strategy Team works closely with other teams within NHS England and NHS Improvement, front-line and regional NHS teams, as well as Local Authorities, national representative bodies and government.

We have flexible working policies, and would be happy to discuss flexible working requirements with any candidates. We are looking to attract people from a wide range of backgrounds and would encourage you to get in touch if you’d like to discuss your potential suitability.
