Employment Status: 3 days a week

Salary: £18,000 (pro-rata from £30,000 per annum) 

Location: Remote in the UK. Offices in Tottenham and Bermondsey, London.

Safeguarding: We are focused on ensuring our beneficiaries throughout all our programs are well supported and that safeguarding measures are put in place throughout all we do. Safer recruitment is a part of our overarching safeguarding policy. All volunteers, freelancers and staff are required to engage in safeguarding training before they start their work with us. Our processes are clearly set out and we make it everybody’s business to report issues as they see them.

About the role: we are looking for a Wellbeing Skills Developer who will help our community members by promoting positive mental health coping strategies that will empower them to take control of their own mental health and wellbeing.

You will achieve this by facilitating workshops throughout the year that contribute to positive mental health outcomes and personal wellbeing. In addition, you will develop creative and innovative initiatives that enable our community members to access support in a crisis, promote recovery and maintain wellbeing.

Responsibilities 

  • Design and deliver tailored wellbeing training programmes to community members.
  • Assist in the development, delivery and evaluation of skills-based training programmes and support other staff and freelancers involved with community members to help develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in the effective delivery of programme objectives.
  • Work with and support staff in monitoring outputs and outcomes.
  • Support mental health promotion within our community.
  • Maintain service user records and collect data as required to run the analysis, audit and evaluation of the wellbeing services and produce written reports as required.
  • Create an empowering, non-judgemental, positive and welcoming atmosphere within the community spaces, emphasising self-determination and assisting community members to make plans and decisions that help them reach their goals.
  • Establish and maintain rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with community members while providing effective support

​Experience

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, social work for example) and hold relevant experience from other work.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with people facing common mental health challenges
  • Knowledge of relevant networks in both statutory and community settings & building and managing relationships with partner organisations to ensure effective signposting and progression routes
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Safeguarding practices and processes
  • Experience developing beneficial courses based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapies. 
  • Workshop facilitation skills and the ability to train in Mental Health First aid to ensure all other staff members and facilitators are well equipped to engage with people in need of support
  • An understanding of methodologies used to implement, spread and adopt mental health and wellbeing innovations.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience.

This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
