Ethical company seeks organised individual to help develop a food and beverage offering.

Summary

Reports to the Food and Beverage Coordinator and is accountable for creating fresh and delicious food in a fast-paced environment. Helps develop menus with the Food and Beverage Coordinator with sustainable and local produce in mind, responsible for maintaining kitchen stock, keeping an exceptionally clean and organised kitchen adhering to food, health and safety standards. 

Responsibilities

  1. Stock control
  • Manage stock levels and place day to day orders with suppliers. 
  • Unpack and store deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with suppliers.
  1.   Kitchen Maintenance
  • Setting up, cleaning, and organising workstations
  • Ensure that the kitchen areas are always kept clean and tidy and adhering to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Performing end-of-day cleaning duties
  • Reporting any maintenance and equipment issues to Food and Beverage Coordinator. 
  1.   Food preparation
  • Design exceptional menus, based on sustainable, local, and seasonal ingredients
  • Plan alternative recipes for customers with special dietary needs
  • Adhere to food, health, and safety standards
  • Preparing ingredients for shift
  • Cooking orders according to food health and safety standards
  • Handling multiple orders at a time
  • Tracking and reporting on food wastage
  1.   Other responsibilities
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested
  • Engage with and develop understanding of environmental issues
  • Always maintaining a positive image of the brand.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed and a strong team player.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Positive and approachable manner
  • A passion for producing good quality basic food. 

Qualifications 

  • Food Hygiene Level 2

Experience

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a catering environment.
