Summary
Reports to the Food and Beverage Coordinator and is accountable for ensuring outstanding customer service in the TYF café, serving delicious food, drinks, and coffee.
Responsibilities
- Customer experience:
- Welcome the customers in the cafe, take their orders and answer their questions and concerns.
- Familiarise yourself with the menu and any allergen requirements
- Ensure that customer experience is at the heart of everything you do by projecting a professional and positive approach to all aspects of customer service to deliver consistently superb customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Resolve any customer complaints in a professional manner and where necessary elevate these complaints to management.
- Service
- Take food and beverage orders and ensure they are communicated with the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately
- Processing customer orders using Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders.
- Fulfil hot and cold drinks orders.
- Support the kitchen staff as and when required, in accordance with food, health, and safety regulations.
- Working alongside and assisting the adventure booking office team as required.
- Product knowledge
- Have in-depth knowledge of our local suppliers and where our food comes from.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of adventure products to provide advice and recommendations as needed.
- Show your passion for the TYF brand to every customer and convey what makes us unique.
- Share the TYF story, values, and mission with our customers.
- Cleaning & Maintenance
- Performing end-of-day cleaning duties, which include wiping down windows, mirrors, and fixtures as well as sweeping and mopping the shop floor.
- Keep the front of house area neat and organized.
- Work with other team members to keep the outside area, entrances and sales floor area clean at all times
- Report any maintenance issues to the Food and Beverage Coordinator.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists are kept up to date.
- Other responsibilities
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested
- Engage with and develop an understanding of environmental issues
- Maintaining a positive image of the brand at all times.

Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of customers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Awesome knowledge of TYF vision and values and an excellent ability to communicate this to customers.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Prior experience in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of environmental issues, social justice, and sustainability.
