Software Architect

Join Perlego as they are looking for a Software Architect

About us

At Perlego, we’re working hard to make education accessible to all. In this digital age, we believe that anyone should be able to learn anything at any time. Knowledge should be more accessible, not locked behind sky-high price tags.

Over the past 5 years, our goal has been to support students across the UK & Europe to access quality books. The next stage of Perlego is two fold: 1) expand our support to students globally, and 2) build a product that goes beyond the book, a platform that helps students study smarter and more effectively.

What we’re looking for

An Architect with strong technical expertise in Web and Mobile application development. You'd be joining as an individual contributor on our technical track within our Engineering team working on projects at every stage from research through to delivery.

How we work together

We organise ourselves into cross-functional squads, with each squad working together on a common goal. The role will be part of our enablement team that seeks to enable our development squads by looking at items on our roadmap ahead of time and researching solutions, eliciting requirements and putting together architectural blueprints and documentation for teams to implement.

What you’ll do

You will be an individual contributor on the technical track of the engineering team. A core focus of your role will be about enabling the product team to deliver more quickly by supporting them and by researching and conducting technical discovery for items on our roadmap ahead of time. You will be required to assist in the requirements elicitation phase with key stakeholders, research solutions, involve the relevant development squads throughout the solutioning phase and put together architectural blueprints and documentation to get a project ready for development.

It'll be important for you to support, guide and assist teams who take on large and complex projects throughout the implementation process in order to ensure that they are able to meet their deadlines. You will also be required to assist development squads that take on their own research and technical discovery for smaller projects, ensuring that technical designs meet our standards and to ensure they take into account other parts of our platform architecture.

The type of work can vary greatly with everything we are planning to build. There is no shortage of interesting technical challenges to overcome. If you are someone who is passionate about solving all sorts of difficult technical problems in a collaborative environment, this role would suit you well.

Why should you work at Perlego?
