We’ve recently raised a Series C backed by some of the world's best tech founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe); Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo), Nat Friedman (GitHub); Matt Mullenweg (Wordpress).The Role You will be a part of the team that delivers the two key parts of EF Toronto’s Program: Form and Launch. -Form: begins with making decisions about which individuals to invest in, and invite to EF. We then focus on enabling the selected individuals on the program (cohort members) to find the right co-founder and to develop and refine an ambitious idea over three months-Launch: if we decide to invest in their company, the teams join the Launch part of the program. Over a further three months, founders work with our dedicated advisors to accelerate their growth. The culmination is Global Demo Day, where teams launch their companies to hundreds of the world’s best investors. This is followed by several weeks of fundraising support, where we introduce investors to the teams, with the goal of raising a seed round that puts our companies on the path to scale. What You’ll DoYou and the Program team will have the following responsibilities: Talent and Cultivation: As a Program Associate, you won’t just be involved in company building but in identifying and selecting the world’s most talented and ambitious founders. You will:-Review applications and run interviews to help make decisions about which individuals to invest in and invite onto the EF Program.-Help design process and build the relationships which ensure that every offer made is accepted. Operations and Team Building: -Our program initially starts with a weekend where all founders meet and go through EF framework- Kick Off Weekend (KOWE); you will be an integral part of organizing and helping run the show. -During Form, you will actively manage team breakups and formations, using EF frameworks and data. -Founders will have the opportunity to showcase what they are working on in a pitch-style format called Cohort Showcase. You will have the opportunity to host these sessions and make sure they run smoothly. Investment Readiness: At the end of Form, teams pitch to the Investment Committee to receive funding and join Launch, the second part of the program. It’s highly competitive and we don’t fund every team.-You and the Program team will prepare teams to build a narrative and answer basic investor questions on topics ranging from problem-solution, to go-to-market to business model. Company Building and Demo Day: Once funded, you will be the key account manager for teams going through Launch. You will own operations and cohort experience.-Operations include our pre-seed investment process at the start of Launch, scheduling check-ins between teams and advisors throughout the program and building out your investor and ‘people in our community’ network to help our portfolio companies succeed.-You and the Program team will be responsible for organizing Demo Day which covers everything from pitch practice with the teams, reviewing investor and pitch decks, to running the operations for Demo Day (organizing photo/video shoot, gathering all assets to review).
