Senior Operations Manager

Corporate catering company seeking a dynamic, practical and strategic thinker to grow and iterate our business

Karma Cans is a lunch delivery company, based just off Broadway Market in Hackney, that makes and delivers up to 1000 meals a day (with plans to increase this number!). We're a relaxed, happy team of 8 people and we're looking for a dynamic, practical and strategic thinker to join us for the long term to grow and iterate our business. 

We are looking for an excellent Senior Operations Manager who can think big and small, taking care of the little things that matter, while being able to think long term about new improvements, processes and systems. Alongside managing the Kitchen Operations, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Head of Sales as a leadership unit in order to advance the objectives of the company.

The ideal person will be organised, proactive and upbeat, with the ability to keep very calm under pressure. An all rounder who will bring a positive energy to the team and has no problem getting their hands dirty.

This is a leadership role and you will be expected to manage your own time while defining and executing your own goals. The work you will undertake outside of the day-to-day operations will be project-based and there is scope to centre those projects around your own ideas, experience and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing the Operations team, setting their tasks, objectives and performance indicators.

Managing external ordering platforms: Monthly performance reviews with 3rd party partners to ensure we are fulfilling targets, meeting SLAs and delivering a service at optimum efficiency.

Overseeing production and managing deliveries. 1000 items can leave the kitchen before 11am on a busy day, your role is to make sure they leave and arrive on time and in the right place.

Building and maintaining long-term partnerships with courier companies and increasing the efficiency of our deliveries. A good knowledge of London is helpful.

Providing customer service when necessary and liaising with clients about specific requirements. 

Procuring the best value equipment, packaging and appliances; forming partnerships where necessary

Building management - Organising & overseeing necessary maintenance works.

Managing the preparations for and logistics of all events and new commercial ventures.

Developing project plans to improve and grow the business.

Devising & implementing long-term strategy; individually as well as part of the leadership team. 

Financial review & monitoring; working closely with the financial controller to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
