What you'll do

As the Paralegal, you’ll be an important member of our close knit Legal Team, and will provide support on a broad range of legal matters giving you exposure to all areas of the business in a dynamic and scaling fintech company.

  • You’ll work with all teams in the business to identify business risk and ensure due diligence is carried out on all new service providers.
  • You’ll work with other members of the Legal Team to monitor and amend public facing website agreements, and to assist the Legal Team  with commercial contract reviews and negotiation. 
  • You’ll assist with legal research on various domestic and international matters, and provide assistance to the Legal Team in respect of the regular updates that the Legal Team provides. on relevant industry developments that may affect the business 
  • You’ll help with the implementation of innovative and scalable processes that enable the Legal Team and wider business to be efficient, effective, flexible and responsive.
  • You’ll provide administrative assistance with responsibilities including maintaining the business’s  service provider records, contract records, and data protection records.
  • You’ll collaborate with Seedrs colleagues from every part of the business and in the Legal Team on general legal issues and help them arrive at solutions.

  • An individual that can manage, organise and prioritise a varied workload.
  • Someone with excellent written and oral communication skills who can communicate complex issues in a straightforward way.
  • Someone with an interest in driving the implementation of process and efficiency improvements.
  • Someone with a genuine interest in the start-up industry and with an enthusiasm for the changing legal landscape of start-up investment.
  • Someone looking for experience in the legal industry as a generalist.
  • A team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Someone who will, with instructions and limited support, take ownership of tasks.
  • IT skills – experience with Microsoft Word is essential. Experience with the Google Apps suite would also be beneficial

Nice to haves (not mandatory)

  • Experience in contracts management and negotiation  
  • Some knowledge of data protection and/or financial services regulation
  • A recognised legal qualification and/or first hand experience in a legal role

Interview and assessment process

  1. Initial interview with Senior Legal Manager and Senior Legal Associate
  2. Written assessment
  3. Second interview with Legal Director and Senior Legal Manager (including review of written assessment)
