You’ll be pivotal to building on and developing a successful finance function at Work.Life, with exposure to and full operational ownership of all key finance processes. The role

Hands-on oversight of day-to-day financial operations:

Manage external bookkeepers completing day-to-day transactional accounting within the company, including payroll and invoicing

Ensure on-time accounts receipt & payment through working collaboratively to coach our Finance Assistant

Manage cashflow appropriately

Manage Landlord relationships & required landlord reporting.

Investor relations

Take ownership of debt schedules and bank/shareholder debt payments

Enable our Directors by delivering right-first-time monthly investor reports.

Reporting

Review financial data to prepare monthly &annual management reports

Liaise with accountants to ensure all statutory requirements are met for the company in preparation of the year end accounts 

Close management of budgeting & forecasting for the organisation

Track actual cash flow movements against budgeted cash flow movements and highlight any issues on a timely basis 

Track the company's financial status and performance against key indicators to identify areas for potential improvement.

Business partnering

Meet with managers of each location & department on a monthly basis as part of month-end sign off to coach them in excellent financial management

Financial processes

Stay up to date with technological advancements & accounting software to be used for financial purposes.

Continuously seek to improve financial processes and controls.

Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company

Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

What success looks like in your first 3 months

Develop a full understanding of existing financial processes in the business Work to improve & further develop our month end process to ensure it is accurate and efficient at all stages Ensure the required controls are in place to keep budget owners working towards their agreed budgets Help to drive cost efficiencies through the business, working with our operations team to reduce overheads Develop great relationships with the rest of the business and become a trusted support for our managers Work closely with our Finance Manager to build a strong finance function and to ensure transactional accounting is accurate and simple.

Skills & Quals

You’ll have been an FC before. We’re hiring your experience to demonstrate best practice & to support / mentor the career development of our existing team & we’d love to progress your career too, in time. Relevant qualification (ACCA/CIMA) Audit / assurance experience is strongly desired Advanced data analysis and Excel skillset is a must Experience using Xero is advantageous.
