What does a Senior Product Manager - Community do at Busuu?

Within the community of Busuu, learners have the opportunity to practice their language skills with other native speakers. At the same time, every user is also able to help others learn their own mother tongue. With community being the USP of Busuu, this roleis fundamental in achieving our purpose of empowering people through languages.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the development and execution of the Community product roadmap, uncovering opportunities and prioritising to deliver outcomes that work for learners and the business.
  • Developing the strategy for Community within Busuu to meet the needs and desires of language learners
  • Collaborating with other product managers across squads and our education teams to develop a holistic approach to online language learning
  • Uncovering ways to differentiate ourselves among our competitors through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and extensive market and customer research.
  • Providing clear and concise requirements for your squad engineers and working together to develop the best solutions in the most efficient manner.

What we’re looking for in a Sr. Product Manager - Community

  • 5+ years proven experience of strategy and execution as a product manager in a B2C, community/social network and mobile-first business with large traffic (millions of users) and servicing a global audienceExperience of working within an agile product development process, leading squads alongside engineers and designers
  • Experience of using quantitative and qualitative data at the heart of decision making. You use data to discover opportunities, identify issues and drive engagement and learner efficacy.
  • Able to create compelling business cases and opportunity assessments and present them to senior leadership
  • Capable of managing a multitude of stakeholders and competing interests and dependencies. Adept at building consensus.
  • Solid experience in A/B testing, including hypothesis generation, tooling such as Amplitude or Optimizely and the statistics behind the process.
  • Fluent in English with a working knowledge of a second European language, in particular Spanish, is an advantage.
