Finance at Bloom & Wild Group
The finance team is organised into three main teams across Bloom & Wild Group. Led by our VP of Finance, we collaborate together as one function and work closely with other stakeholders across the business.
Financial Control & Reporting - this team runs all things financial control and reporting, including; compilation of month end reporting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable.
Financial Planning & Analysis - this team manages our budgeting and forecasting process for the company, together with regular analysis of financial performance. They are also responsible for building financial models for a variety of uses across the company and working closely with other teams to do so.
Financial Change & Compliance - This team performs the majority of group functions across our 3 locations including but not limited to; PSP and treasury management, controls and compliance and all things tax. They are also responsible for spearheading any process improvements or transformational projects.
What will you do?
We're looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Amsterdam! Reporting to our FP&A Operational Lead, you’ll get the chance to help shape how we work, while working within a close-knit and knowledgeable team. There’s stacks of room to make your mark by applying your initiative, expertise and experience to help us realise our finance roadmap.
This busy team strives to provide valuable financial information to the business, so we’d love for this person to be able to build strong working relationships and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
The focus of this role will be our bloomon brand, and the metrics needed to best support the operational areas of our business.
Responsibilities will include:Assist in the preparation of our annual budget and ongoing forecasting. Weekly and monthly analysis of gross margin and logistics spend. Develop and improve upon existing recurring reporting. Month end support for the FC&R team, including entry & extraction from our financial systems in particular Netsuite together with some preparation of financial reports & schedules, with a focus on cost of goods sold. Identify key trends and potential risks and opportunities within bloomon operational metrics. Establish business relationships across the organisation and be a key FP&A contact for the logistics, warehouse & flower teams. Ad hoc analysis and model creation which will include business partnering with the relevant stakeholders across the company.
YouIdeally you will have completed a relevant degree or professional training in Accounting or Finance and have up to 2 years experience in a similar role. Strong MS Excel skills. Ability to demonstrate ownership of significant areas of work and keep to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment. Ability to spot problems, identify potential efficiencies, and suggest improvements. Are enthusiastic, self motivated, adaptable and innovative; willingness to get stuck in and get your hands dirty. Good team player; develops and maintains good working relationships with colleagues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and ideally Dutch too. Experience with Netsuite is ideal but not essential.
We are a distributed team with two office locations in Amsterdam and London and multiple warehouse locations. Our team can choose to work from our offices as much or as little as they’d like. We don’t expect people to come in as a norm but if it makes sense to do so (team onsites, monthly meetings etc), then we’d encourage it.
