Our Team
Our UK Development team consists of a small group of experts, working closely together to develop a portfolio of subsidy-free solar, onshore wind and battery storage projects throughout the UK. We are looking for ambitious independent people who are driven, collaborative, creative and fun to work with. This is a great opportunity to make a significant difference in the take up of renewable energy in the UK.
This role is based in Gloucester and you would need to be in the office c3-4 days a week.
Role Description
We are looking for someone to join the origination team to progress development opportunities with specific focus on connection design and project inception. Using your knowledge of distribution networks and working alongside the wider development team you will build and submit grid applications, deliver technical review of grid offers and maintain Network company communications through the pre and post application process.
You will support the wider team on all aspects of the identification and securing of development opportunities and ensure project management systems are updated regularly with new data as it’s provided. You will be passionate about applying your skills to the development and build out of a portfolio of new utility scale solar and battery storage projects throughout Great Britain.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and deliver new grid opportunities, submitting connection applications to the relevant network businesses to secure capacity
- Support the origination team in the identification of possible challenges and opportunities within grid connection scenarios to expand the businesses project portfolio
- Identify and mitigate issues with grid offers and support the relationship between the business and network operator representatives to maintain an industry leading portfolio of projects
- Maintain the expansion and update of our internal GIS systems to support the technical analysis of grid connection applications
- Produce high quality reports and assessments for the grid elements of new projects
- Maintaining a continued focus on process improvements – the way that it was done yesterday is not necessarily the best way to do it tomorrow
- Inputting into the wider development strategy for each project and providing project information to both internal and external stakeholders
Experience / Requirements
- Degree qualified or equivalent with level of experience in data led role
- Have strong analytical skills, ability to identify key information from a range of sources and collate into well defined, accessible outputs.
- Knowledge of the distribution and/or transmission networks would be advantageous, as would experience in planning, design or project/account management roles.
- Experience in the connection application process and knowledge of the industry policies and legislation which govern how this process works would be beneficial
- Be proficient in Microsoft office applications with a great degree of IT literacy
- Hold a passion for using technology to better processes and strive for improvement
- Possess strong communication and report building skills with experience in producing evidence-based recommendations
- Full driver’s license
- Proven ability to work and communicate with remote colleagues

- You will have strong written communications and presentation skills
